Bio

As the son of two Canadian immigrants originally from Hong Kong, hard work and large aspirations were instilled in Jonathan Yeu early in life.  This has led Jonathan to enrol in York University’s Schulich School of Business, where he is gaining an exceptional overview of current business practices and implications for future business environments.  Jonathan also gained international experience through Schulich’s exchange program, where he gained an invaluable education with a semester at the University of Mannheim while also being able to fulfil another passion of his: travelling.  Jonathan expects to complete his degree in spring of 2015, and also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics from Queen’s University.

Jonathan has also been gaining work experience during his MBA education related to retail banking and fraud management practices.  Previously, he has a wide variety of work experience ranging from customer service and product pricing strategies, while also gaining international work experience in New Zealand and China.

Aside from his professional pursuits, Jonathan plays the drums for multiple bands, and is also a member of the Toronto Musicians’ Association.  He has shared the stage with such acts as Ill Scarlett and KISS and has played such festivals as The Toronto Freedom Festival and Sarnia Bayfest.  Jonathan also enjoys experiencing new cultures and people, and has been fortunate enough to have travelled and lived in many countries outside of Canada.  With music being an international language, and travel enabling an individual to meet people with different perspectives and values, Jonathan believes that a combination of the two allows for people to better understand different cultures and backgrounds, and hopes to use his MBA education to assist with this philosophy.
